Fees and Confidentiality

Fees are in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Ontario College of Certified Social Workers. A receipt will be provided if required for your records.

Fees for professional services provided by a Social Worker are not covered by OHIP. They are often covered by extended health care benefit plans. You should check with your Human Resources department for further information regarding coverage, as plans may vary. However, fees for professional services provided by a Social Worker may also be used as a medical tax deduction.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length, with 10 minutes set aside for record keeping and file review. The initial session may require a full hour, and longer sessions can be arranged if necessary. Accommodations for telephone consultations can be arranged.

There is a 48 hour cancellation requirement.

Confidentiality:

All information discussed during the session is highly confidential. This information will not be shared without your express written consent. Should you wish to have this information shared, a written authorization will be completed and sent to the appropriate parties. Issues of child abuse, self-harm, or harm to another individual are required to be reported.
